Presentations and Workshops
Real Reason has identified a need to:
- Introduce Real Reason's work to broader audiences, including potential partners/clients and supporters
- Provide tools to more consciously connect policy goals to the common sense ideas that motivate those goals
- Demonstrate how poorly-chosen slogans and strategies can undermine long-term goals
- Explain how values can have different meanings, depending on how they are connected to underlying reasoning patterns
Real Reason conducts workshops both to convey ideas and to maintain a dialogue with the community it serves.
Real Reason is developing a series of presentations and workshops designed to: (1) increase understanding of and support for the new type of political research conducted by Real Reason; and (2) make some of the analytical tools of cognitive linguistics accessible to activists and members of the general public.
Learning materials for workshops and presentations will be continually updated to reflect the latest findings of Real Reason's long-term research. Participant feedback will be evaluated and used to guide ongoing research.
As participants complete introductory workshops, Real Reason will create more advanced offerings. Specialized workshops will also be integrated into the process of building long-term collaborations with partner organizations.
